APHA's Annual Meeting and Expo is the largest annual gathering of public health professionals. More than 12,000 people attend, and thousands of new abstracts are presented each year, making APHA 2018 the most influential meeting in public health.

On November 14th (11 am PT), Jessica will present on “Building Women’s Empowerment through Cross-Sector Collaboration in Urban Slums”, as part of the session on International Health Program Social Determinants of Women’s Health. During this presentation, Jessica will explain how to use cross-sector collaboration with community members to create sustainable strategies to increase health and well-being in their environment, as well as outline her design strategy that includes vulnerable communities as co-strategists in resolving the challenges that affect them - referencing her ongoing research in the Old Fadama slum in Accra, Ghana to discuss process, methods, and results.
